The study of ocean waves, particularly those that are irregular in nature, is a fascinating and complex field of research. One statistical distribution that has been found to fit the characteristics of these waves is the Weibull distribution. In addition, researchers have found that the phenomenon of wave superposition, known as coherence, is an important factor in understanding the behavior of ocean waves. The use of Gaussian random sequences that are correlated has proved to be a valuable tool in studying coherence. Furthermore, it has been found that nonlinear transformation techniques that are zero-memory in nature can be applied to these sequences to provide valuable insights into the behavior of ocean waves. Finally, the use of software tools such as MATLAB has greatly facilitated the analysis and visualization of data in this field of research.
