dynamic voltage restorer by dq0 control system

详 情 说 明

Dynamic Voltage Restorers (DVRs) are power electronic devices used to mitigate voltage disturbances such as sags, swells, and harmonics in electrical power systems. The DQ0 (Direct-Quadrature-Zero) control technique is widely employed in DVRs due to its effectiveness in handling unbalanced and distorted grid conditions.

### Overview of DQ0 Control in DVR The DQ0 transformation, also known as the Park transformation, converts three-phase AC quantities into a rotating reference frame (d-q axes) and a zero-sequence component. This simplifies the control of AC systems by transforming time-varying signals into DC quantities, which are easier to regulate.

### Key Control Aspects Reference Frame Transformation – The three-phase grid voltages are converted into d (direct), q (quadrature), and 0 (zero-sequence) components. This allows decoupled control of active and reactive power compensation. Voltage Sag Detection – The DQ0 components are monitored to detect voltage sags or swells. The d-axis component typically represents the active power component, while the q-axis relates to reactive power. Compensation Strategy – Based on the detected disturbances, the DVR injects the required voltage in-phase or out-of-phase to restore the load voltage to its nominal value. Inverter Modulation – A PWM-controlled inverter generates the compensating voltage, synchronized with the grid using a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL).

### Advantages of DQ0 Control Improved Dynamic Response – The decoupled d and q control allows faster compensation of voltage disturbances. Handling Unbalanced Conditions – The zero-sequence component helps manage asymmetrical faults. Enhanced Accuracy – DC reference signals simplify feedback control loop design.

### Applications DQ0-controlled DVRs are used in industrial plants, renewable energy systems, and sensitive load protection where power quality is critical. Their ability to mitigate voltage issues ensures stable operation of equipment like motors, drives, and medical devices.

By leveraging DQ0 control, DVRs provide a robust solution for maintaining power quality in modern electrical grids.
